We created this Privacy Policy ("Policy") to give you confidence as you visit and use the Site and Extension, and to demonstrate a commitment to fair information practices and the protection of privacy.

INFORMATION COLLECTION PRACTICES

(a) We collect personally identifiable information from you only if you sign up for a newsletter, contact us, or activate a license for the Extension. This includes your name, your email address, message details you send with inquiries, and license key information.

(b) Please contact us if you wish to modify your information.

(c) We may update and modify this Privacy Policy.

(d) Effective Date: The effective date of this privacy policy shall be March 24th, 2026.

SOURCELENS CHROME EXTENSION

The SourceLens Chrome extension stores and processes data as follows:

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

All extension data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage APIs. This data never leaves your device except as explicitly described below. Locally stored data includes:

  • License key and purchase email (for activation verification)
  • ASIN eligibility check results (selling status, brand name, category)
  • Sourcing history (ASINs checked, product titles, timestamps, user notes)
  • Gating database (brand and category gating statuses and change history)
  • Supplier research memory (retailer domain names, notes, scores)
  • Bookmarks (saved Keepa Product Finder search URLs and notes)
  • User preferences and settings (AI provider selection, scorecard weights, theme, retailer list)

Data Transmitted to Third Parties

The Extension communicates with the following third-party services:

  • Gumroad (api.gumroad.com): Your license key and purchase email are transmitted to Gumroad solely to verify and validate your license. No other personal data is shared with Gumroad.
  • Amazon Seller Central (sellercentral.amazon.com): ASINs (Amazon product identifiers) are transmitted to Amazon to check your selling eligibility. This uses your existing Amazon Seller Central browser session. The Extension does not collect, store, or transmit your Amazon credentials.

Data We Do Not Collect

  • We do not collect analytics, telemetry, or usage statistics from the Extension
  • We do not track your browsing history
  • We do not sell or share any personal information with third parties
  • We do not set cookies through the Extension
  • We do not operate any data collection servers. All Extension processing occurs locally on your device

Extension Permissions

The Extension requests the following browser permissions, each for a specific purpose:

  • Storage: Save your settings, eligibility cache, and sourcing history locally on your device
  • Cookies: Read-only check of whether you are logged into Amazon Seller Central (cookies are not stored or transmitted by the Extension)
  • Active Tab: Interact with the current Keepa or Amazon browser tab to display overlays
  • Side Panel: Display the Google search panel feature
  • Alarms: Schedule periodic license revalidation and power the sourcing session timer
  • Notifications: Alert you when your sourcing timer completes or when a gating status changes
  • All URLs (content script): Display the supplier research button on any retailer website you visit

Your Rights and Data Control

  • You may clear all Extension data at any time through the Extension's settings and popup
  • Uninstalling the Extension removes all locally stored data from your device
  • You may deactivate your license at any time through the Extension popup

WHAT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION DOES THE SITE COLLECT?

(a) Certain automatic collections take place. Our servers can recognize visitors' domain names, IP addresses, and various traffic data. None of the gathered information reveals any information about you personally.

(b) We may use "cookies" to store a small piece of data on your computer during your session to gather information to better your experience.

WHAT DO WE DO WITH COLLECTED INFORMATION?

(a) We will not share your personal information with any third parties without your consent, except as necessary to provide you with the services offered by us or to comply with the law.

Please note that if you leave the Site and purchase a product or service we promote, the company you purchase from will notify us of the purchase as well as certain identifying information for you. We do not share this information with others.

(b) We use anonymous information to analyze our website's traffic. Traffic and transaction information may also be shared with business partners. Your personal information will not be detailed.

(c) We may disclose personal information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary.

(d) If our Site or substantially all of its assets are acquired by a third party, your personally identifiable information will be one of the assets transferred to the acquirer.

(e) We comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998, better known as the "DMCA".

SECURITY

Although we have reasonable security measures in place, we do not make any assurance that we are able to prevent any such loss or misuse to you or to any third party. Extension data stored locally on your device is protected by Chrome's built-in storage encryption and your operating system's security measures.

SITE AREAS BEYOND COMPANY'S CONTROL

ClearTheShelf.com and the SourceLens Extension contain links to and interfaces with third-party websites and online platforms, including Amazon, Keepa, and Gumroad. These websites and online platforms have established their own terms of use and privacy policies. You are encouraged to read those documents as we have no control over their provisions and said documents may differ greatly from our terms and privacy policy.
