Sure, pouring over the numbers isn't particularly fun or exciting, unless you're a numbers person, but understanding customer behavior, purchasing patterns, and seasonal trends, is a way to almost guarantee your future success as an Amazon seller.
Having the right data, and knowing how to read it, allows sellers to optimize product listings, enhance marketing strategies, manage inventory efficiently, and improve customer satisfaction by offering products that are truly in demand.
But how do you do this, exactly? Well let me introduce you to Sellerboard.
In this Sellerboard review we're going to explore what exactly this software does and how it can help you in your Amazon FBA business.
What is Sellerboard?
Sellerboard is an insightful tool specifically designed for sellers on the Amazon platform, offering a clear and detailed view of their business finances and operational metrics.
Think of it as a friendly assistant that keeps track of all your sales, returns, expenses, and other important numbers, presenting them in an easy-to-understand way.
Sellerboard is particularly useful for figuring out exactly how much profit you’re making after all of your costs are taken into account, such as purchasing stock, Amazon fees, and advertising.
But Sellerboard isn't just about tracking money; it also helps you manage your inventory to avoid running out of stock or overstocking, and it gives tips on how to increase your sales and profits.
Sellerboard is jam packed full of features for Amazon sellers and while we would love to review every single one of them with a fine tooth comb, we're going give more of an overview of each. This way you can go and get a free trial of Sellerboard and get your hands dirty yourself.
The different parts of the software are all accessed from a left hand side menu, which you can see in the above image. We're going to review each "section" of the menu below.
The live dashboard of Sellerboard is very well laid out and easy to use, as seen in the screenshot I shared in the beginning of this article.
I personally like the fact that you get a glance of your "numbers" in tile format, but you can also change over to a "chart" view which is quite handy.
You can also toggle onto a more data-centric "P&L" view, and a "Trends" view to see product specific trends.
The left hand side of your dashboard contains the menu items, which we will dive into now.
Inside the profit features part of the menu you can access your dashboard, as shown previously, along with the following sections:
Analyze the performance of your Amazon PPC campaigns. PPC stands for pay per click, which refers to running paid ads on the Amazon platform.
See all your current product listings and enter your cost of goods (COGS) to ensure your data is up to date.
Enter your indirect expenses in this section to help calculate profit accurately. Other expenses that can be pulled directly from Amazon are automatically included in your Sellerboard account when you integrate with Amazon.
LTV stands for lifetime value, which is the average revenue a over the lifetime of being a customer. This section of Sellerboard helps you review LTV KPI's and plan your marketing activities to ensure a higher customer lifetime value for your Amazon business.
Managing your cashflow is so important, and this section of Sellerboard tracks the cashflow of your entire business at a simple glance. Very powerful.
At the time of writing this Sellerboard review, the reports you can generate are as follows:
- Dashboard by day, month, or product.
- Sales by product/month
- Advertising performance report
- Repeat customers (by brand)
- Stock history report
Monitor your current stock and get notifications when your FBA warehouse stock needs to be replenished.
When you purchase new inventory, you can add documentation and information into the purchase order section to accurately track your shipments. New goods received will also automatically be added to the products section of your Sellerboard account.
When you send to Amazon, you can track your shipments inside this part of your Sellerboard account.
This section is handy to keep details of all your suppliers.
Sellerboard allows you to trigger review request messages to customers, and you can even send your own custom emails to them.
The autoresponder feature of Sellerboard allows you to setup email campaigns, track products and the campaigns attached to them, and you can even add customers to a black list if you want to stop them from receiving messages from you.
Lost and Damaged
It's not uncommon for products to be lost or damaged by Amazon FBA, and there are also scenarios where you don't receive a reimbursement that is owed. The lost and damaged stock feature of Sellerboard will alert you to possible amounts owing to you so you can followup with Amazon support.
Similar to lost and damaged, the returns feature of Sellerboard tracks any non-returns by customers and alerts you of any reimbursements owing to you (because Amazon charges you immediately for returns).
FBA Fee Changes
Fees and charges from Amazon can change, and occasionally you'll even be charged too much. This feature will help you track that so you can request a re-measurement from Amazon support.
If you're also selling on eBay, this part of the Sellerboard software will help you manage your sales and profit on that platform.

The majority of the features included in each account are the same, it's just the volumes and limits that differ.
For example, the standard plan allows 3,000 orders per month and 150 emails per month, whereas the Enterprise plan allows up to 50,000 orders per month and 30,000 emails per month.
Sellerboard vs InventoryLab
This is a common comparison and while I have not extensively compared both of them in terms of actually using them, I will summarize with the following:
- InventoryLab is more expensive if you are just starting out. They have one plan only, at $69 per month. You will need to pay an additional $25 per month if you want their "insights" reporting feature. Sellerboard starts at just $19 per month so it has a price advantage.
- Sellerboard is probably not the preferred option between the two, from my experience, but the reviews do seem good and it is gaining popularity.
- InventoryLab includes the Scoutify 2 app which is worth it's weight in gold. If you are a retail arbitrage seller then using the Scoutify seller scanner app is going to help you immensley.
- In terms of features, InventoryLab does have a slight advantage when it comes to features included compared to Sellerboard. The FBA listing and the accounting features in InventoryLab are hard to beat, not to mention the fact that you also get the Scoutify 2 seller scanner app.
As we wrap this Sellerboard review up, I have to say that this is one of the easiest to use and highly detailed Amazon seller tools I have come across.
If you're starting out on a budget and selling less than 3,000 orders per month, this might just be the perfect tool for you. Of course you can use it at any level, but the majority of sellers doing more than 3,000 orders per month are already committed to whatever software they chose in the beginning.
So, whichever software you choose, make sure you give it a decent test and use the trial period to your advantage!
