RevSeller Review – Useful or Useless? [2024 Update]

If you’re an Amazon FBA seller specializing in online arbitrage, then you’ll be well aware that the competition can be fierce. In fact no matter how you sell on Amazon, there's always competition but there is also abundant opportunity if you have the right processes and tools in place.

RevSeller may be one of those tools you're considering for your Amazon business, but first let me quickly talk about WHY I think the right pieces of software can really give you an advantage.

One of the most important factors for arbitrage success is the ability to make quick decisions when it comes to buying, sourcing and pricing your products.

I'm well aware however that this is much easier said than done!

I know what it's like when researching competitors products and you've got your notepad  and calculator out, scribbling away trying to work out if a product is going to make you a buck or not.

Or perhaps you've got a few years experience under your belt and you've had enough coffee for the day, giving you the ability to perform some quick mental arithmetic to try and determine potential profit margins.

Doing things this way, the 'old way', can take a heap of time and also leaves you vulnerable to human error, if you’re willing to admit that you don’t always get things right ;).

So this is where the RevSeller chrome extension comes into the fold. A simple yet powerful piece of software that can handle all of the above-mentioned heavy lifting for you in only a matter of seconds.

There’s no doubt that deploying the right tools in your Amazon business can help give you the edge needed to beat out the competition but the question of the day is…

Does RevSeller live up to expectations and will it actually add value to your Amazon business?

To help answer this, I’m going to explore the following topics in this RevSeller review and you can decide for yourself:

What is RevSeller?

RevSeller is a chrome extension that helps Amazon FBA sellers make better and more informed decisions when it comes to sourcing and buying products to sell.

RevSeller is typically used for online arbitrage but it can also work for retail arbitrage or as a wholesale sourcing tool.

At a glance you can view profitability calculations and other product related information, as well as some very handy product variation data which allows you to quickly determine which variations of a product are selling the best.

Ultimately this tool is going to help you determine whether or not a product is going to be profitable, without doing a heap of manual calculations or without even having to leave the chrome browser tab you’ve got open.

As you keep reading this RevSeller review, I've no doubt you'll soon see just how powerful this simple little chrome extension is!

How Does RevSeller Work?

Once you’ve set up your RevSeller account, connected it to your Amazon seller account and installed the Chrome Extension, all you need to do is go to a product listing on Amazon to see the extension work its magic.

RevSeller Box

At first glance you’ll see the sales rank of that product and right below that, the 90 day average data for pricing and sales rank.

The main part of the RevSeller ‘box’ is the calculator where you can input your own data and get accurate net profit figures.

RevSeller provides both merchant fulfilled pricing as well as FBA pricing and it also tells you how many offers there are for each.

RevSeller Settings

Behind the scenes you can input various data and information into the RevSeller settings so your outputs are more accurate. It might seem like a lot of info but it's actually quite straight forward and you really only need to do it once.

RevSeller Features At a Glance

At the time of writing this RevSeller review, the 'box' that displays in your browser on the product page shows you the following pieces of information.

  • Net Profit, ROI and Margin estimates.
  • Current Sales Rank
  • 90 Day Average Stats
  • Product Restriction Links
    • Sell Yours-New, Need Approval-New and Can I Sell?
  • Quick Links Dropdown
    • Links to the same product on Amazon, Google & Ebay.
  • FBA Fee, Margin & ROI Calculator
  • Current buy box price
  • Current and average pricing
  • Product ASIN and UPC
  • Dimensions and Weight
  • Keepa & CamelCamelCamel integrations
  • Amazon product category
  • The number of FBA and MFN sellers offering this product
  • Product Variation Viewer Button (see below)

RevSeller Variation Viewer

One of the most widely praised features of RevSeller is the variation viewer, and for good reason! It’s pretty awesome and saves a ton of work. It also helps to eliminate the risk of buying unpopular product variations when you're sourcing new products.

RevSeller Product Variation Viewer

Just in case you're not sure, a product variation on Amazon is simply a different size or color option of a product. Shoes and clothing are a great example.

To gauge the popularity of a product on Amazon we can look at the reviews to see the customer ratings, but where the RevSeller variation viewer really helps is it breaks down the reviews by each variation.

You could go and do this manually by going through each customer review and making note of which variant they bought, but that could take you days!

The beauty of the variation viewer is that it also includes data for out of stock variations too.

The theory is that the more reviews a product has, the more times it has sold. So the RevSeller variation viewer allows us to quickly see which variations sell the most, giving us more information to make better buying decisions.

RevSeller Pricing

You can try RevSeller for free on a 30 day trial. No credit card is required to commence your RevSeller free 30 day trial.

RevSeller Pricing with Discount Coupon

After your 30 day trial is finished, RevSeller costs $99.99 per year.

If you’re interested in giving RevSeller a go, make sure you use the discount code PRO20 to get your 30 day trial + $20 off your first year.

That mean’s you can get RevSeller for only $79.99 for your first year with the code PRO20, which equates to just over $6 per month. Super affordable!

How to Set up RevSeller

First you need to go to RevSeller.com and claim your free trial and your $20 discount for your first year with the code PRO20.

It’s important to note that you do need an Amazon Pro Selling account in order to connect RevSeller and use the chrome extension, and it currently only works for the USA and CA Amazon marketplaces.

Once you’ve setup your RevSeller account, you need to do the following:

Step 1: Head on over to Seller Central on Amazon and go to Manage Your Apps. You need to be logged in to your Amazon account as the primary user.

Step 2: Hit the green “Authorize New Developer” button and follow the steps.

Amazon Authorize New Developer

Step 3: You will need to enter the Developer Name and ID which you can find inside your RevSeller setup section, as shown in the screenshot below.

RevSeller Setup Instructions

Step 4: You’ll need to then grab some info from inside your Seller Central account, your Amazon Seller ID and the RevSeller MWS Auth Token, and paste it into the fields inside RevSeller.

The reason you need this info is because RevSeller needs to access your seller account. They only use this access to call up product and price information on the product you are currently viewing on Amazon.

Step 5: Once you’ve completed all of the above, you get to install the Chrome Extension and you’re done!

 RevSeller Pros and Cons

Sometimes it's a challenge writing out the disadvantages as well as the advantages when I really love a piece of software, but there's always room for improvement no matter how good the tool is! Let's summarize the pros and cons of RevSeller.

Pros
  • Easy to Set Up and Get Started Quickly
  • Huge Time Saver, Especially For Variant Research
  • Very Well Priced
  • Great Customer Support
Cons
  • No Monthly Subscription Option - Only Annual
  • Only Available for USA and CA Amazon Marketplaces

The Final Word on RevSeller

So there you have it, my review of RevSeller laid out as transparently as possible for you! So does RevSeller play a huge role in my Amazon business?

Heck yes it does!

Will it be beneficial for you, no matter what your experience level with Amazon? Yep, really think it is helpful for all Amazon sellers.

We live in an age of distraction and the less chrome tab switching I need to do, the better. That's what I love most about RevSeller in all honesty. The tool has some awesome features, but the convenience of having it literally right there on the Amazon product page is amazing.

What's also great about RevSeller is the fact the it's so affordable AND they give you a 30 day trial so you can simply go and give it a test-drive for yourself with no risk.
