FBA Toolkit: The Most Affordable Software for Amazon Sellers?

By Christopher Grant

So many Amazon software tools, so little time to test them all. 😂

Luckily for you, we're back with another Amazon FBA software review.

We're going to take a deep dive into FBA Toolkit, a tool designed predominantly for Amazon online arbitrage sellers.

Even though there's a lot of software out there for Amazon sellers, not all of them are great. Some are downright terrible.

But I totally understand that people have differing opinions on software, so I will do my best to give a transparent and unbiased review of FBA Toolkit so you can evaluate whether or not it's worth investing in for your own Amazon business.

Who is FBA Toolkit for?

FBA Toolkit is a set of software tools for Amazon FBA sellers to help analyze Amazon sales data and track products on the Amazon marketplace.

Ultimately, the features of FBA Toolkit are designed to help FBA sellers make better inventory sourcing and product pricing decisions.

It is quite simplistic in what it does, which I like in a tool, but the question is... Does it provide enough value for the price to make it a worthy investment for Amazon sellers?

Let's take a look at the core features of FBA Toolkit so you can decide for yourself.

FBA Toolkit Features

FBA Toolkit keeps things pretty simple. They have three core features for Amazon FBA sellers.

1. Sales Rank Estimation

FBA Toolkit Sales Rank Estimation

FBA Toolkit's Sales Rank Estimation tool is free to use, and doesn't even require a you to login. The FBA Toolkit homepage has 21 Amazon category graphs, each with an input field below.

In the input field you can enter a sales rank and an estimate for the number of sales per day in that category will be generated.

FBA Toolkit Interactive Graph

If you hover over the graph, you'll see that they are actually interactive and will show you the amount of sales per day if you hover your cursor on the graph.

This free feature of FBA Toolkit is only available for the Amazon US marketplace. More marketplaces are available on the paid subscription plans, which we will cover later.

2. Price List Analysis

FBA Toolkit Price List Analysis Report

The Price List Analysis tool lets you upload a spreadsheet with product data such as ASIN, UPC, EAN etc. The software will then generate a report with a heap of data points such as current offers, estimated sales rate, profit, and markup.

In order to use the Price List Analysis tool, you will need to be on a paid plan.

3. Product Tracker

FBA Toolkit Product Tracker

FBA Toolkit's Product Tracker is exactly as it sounds, it tracks products. 🙂

You can track product data such as price, stock levels, and sales of all the sellers for a specific product.

In order to track a product all you need to do is enter the ASIN into the field above the logo on the homepage. If the product isn't being tracked, you have the option to do so.

You can also go to the My Tracked Products tab and enter an ASIN there, or upload a list to track bulk products.

Estimating Product Sales With FBA Toolkit

Let's do a quick tutorial on how you can estimate the number of sales a specific product is making on Amazon using the FBA Toolkit software tool. This part of the software is free to use.

Step 1 - Find the Product BSR on Amazon

Amazon Product BSR

In order to find the best sellers rank for a product on Amazon, navigate to to the product information section. Copy the relevant category BSR for the product.

Step 2 - Enter the BSR into the Correct Graph on FBA Toolkit

FBA Toolkit Baby Category Graph

Find the graph on the FBA Toolkit that corresponds to the product category you want to research. Enter the BSR into the field below the graph.

You can see in this example, the baby stroller we are researching has an estimated sales rate of 20+ per day for the past 30 days.

As already discussed, this data is available for the US marketplace only. Paid plans can access other Amazon marketplaces.

FBA Toolkit Mobile App

I don't do a lot of retail arbitrage myself these days, but I always make sure I have a seller scanner app on my phone in the event that I find a ripper deal while my wife drags me around the shops.

FBA Toolkit Mobile App

I tested the mobile app at home on a few products and while it works, it is painfully slow at times. This defeats the purpose of having a seller scanner app, in my opinion.

Not only is the app slow, it lacks the ability to allow cost prices to be entered. This is an absolute must for any scanner if you ask me.

To be completely honest, you'd be better off using the free Amazon seller app or if you're serious about retail arbitrage, get something like SellerAmp.

FBA Toolkit Pricing

FBA Toolkit Pricing

You'd think the pricing for a too like FBA Toolkit would be relatively straight forward, but you'd be wrong if you assumed so. 😂

There are free features of this tool, being the sales rank estimation feature, but all other features require a paid plan.

The Scouter plan is the entry level plan and it's only $5 per month. It has the following feature limits:

  • A total of 10 tracked products
  • 100 price list rows per day
  • 100 barcode scans per day

The Scouter plan also offers the first month free.

As the subscription plan prices increase, so do you limits.

The Enterprise Plan and Elite Plan, $500 and $1,000 per month respectively, include much higher feature limits and extended reports with the following data:

  • Average, Minimum, and Maximum Buy Box Prices
  • Merchant/Seller Sales Volume

If you want to use a marketplace other than USA, you will need the Enterprise or Elite plan.

FBA Toolkit Alternatives

If you've followed me for any length of time, you might be aware that theres small handful of Amazon software tools that I can't live without. Many of these serve as alternatives to FBA Toolkit.

Here's my top 3 software recommendations if you are looking for an FBA Toolkit alternative:

Keepa

Undoubtedly one of the most important software tool in your arsenal, Keepa is the holy grail of Amazon product price history.

If you want to look at detailed price history graphs and track products (many more than you can with FBA Toolkit) then Keepa is what you need.

For around $20 USD per month (€19 per month), Keepa is an absolute must for any Amazon seller.

Tactical Arbitrage

One of the more powerful online arbitrage software tools on the market, Tactical Arbitrage is the ultimate sourcing machine.

With it's "Always be Scanning" feature, you can literally get the software to scan the internet while you sleep for product deals to source and sell on Amazon.

Alternatively, upload your list of products from a wholesale supplier and find the best deals for those products online.

SellerAmp

If you're looking for a decent Amazon seller scanner app, SellerAmp is a great alternative to the FBA Toolkit mobile app.

SellerAmp is actually a 3-in-1 tool with a web app, chrome extension, and a mobile scanning app. This is a fantastic tool to consider. You can read my SellerAmp review for more info.

Pros and Cons of FBA Toolkit

Let's explore some of the advantages and disadvantages of FBA Toolkit. I like to keep the pros and cons lists brief and limited them to only the most important points.

Pros
  • The free BSR daily sales estimate graphs are handy
  • Entry level pricing of $5 is reasonable
Cons
  • The pricing is expensive when you consider the feature limits
  • No free trial on higher subscription plans
  • Mobile app is very slow

My Final Word on FBA Toolkit

If I was to sum this software up in one word, unfortunately I would say "underwhelming".

I really like the free feature Sales Rank Estimation feature, but once you start paying for this tool I can't help but think there are much better options out there.

The $5 Scouter Plan is obviously very affordable, but it has serious limitations. If you legitimately only want to track 10 products then by all means, go for the Scouter Plan. But realistically you need to be tracking a lot more products than that if you want to make your Amazon FBA business a viable revenue generator.

I hope you've enjoyed my transparent review of FBA Toolkit.
